Oh the dreaded "H" word...homework...

Dear dedicated Middle School students,
Are you tired of all the homework that your teachers assign you?  Do you ever wonder why all the teachers assign homework in the first place?  Is it to move you as far away from the TV and computer as possible?  Is it so that you won't have time to go outside and play?  Well, for those of you wondering, daily homework assignments are assigned so that you can improve your understanding of the lesson taught in class.  Homework assignments are meant to compliment what you are learning and will be learning in class.  Rest assured...homework does a body good! :>
Sponge Bob agrees...
YOU NEED TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

"Said is Dead"

You may be wondering, "How could my favorite word die?" I know, I know.  It's a sad parting when you have to give up something you treasure.  We all have to do it sometime.  Growing and moving on to better choices in life (well at least in writing) includes utilizing improved word choices.  Below is a list of options that you can choose from to avoid using the word "said."  Whenever you get stuck on this word, check back to this list.

Where do you see yourself going?

Timeline
In response to the theme of time in The Diary of Anne Frank, the grade 7 & 8 Language Arts classes have created timelines to reflect on the changes in their life in the past two years and the next two years to come. Where do you see yourself in the next two years?  Have you noticed great changes in yourself these past two years? Taking time to pause and reflect on the changes in your life is a great way to understand how you and others develop and learn from situations that occur from life.
